It’s better at reinforcing the language, and shows you where the characters originate from which helps with memory

Honestly is the most well rounded language learning app I’ve ever used. It has it all; writing practice, allowing to hear your own mistakes when practicing pronunciation, building grammar skill, and so much more. The only way you could mess up when using this app is by just not using it. Not to mention it’s extremely entertaining and easy to use on the go. I wish I could get this same level of education for other languages, but no other app I’ve found can compare to this one, even paid-for apps. I would definitely recommend this specific app to anyone wanting to learn Mandarin.

I went looking for apps to help me learn Mandarin about three years ago, and I'm really glad this one came up. After getting through the free lessons, and finding them well-structured and well-rounded, I decided to buy a lifetime subscription. Now I use it to help supplement the Mandarin courses I'm taking at my university. I feel this app has provided me with the very best tools to succeed in the long, but rewarding, journey of language acquisition. You won't find a better app for studying Mandarin than this one.

There are lots of nice, creative exercises in this package but it is so buggy it is hard to use

So far I really like the simplicity of this app. Although I don’t want to spend time learning to write characters right now, it is good to include it. Someday I will go back to that.

I got all the way to age and counting for free and now I can't continue to learn chinese due to a paywall.. It was a good app while it lasted.. I shouldn't have to pay to learn Chinese..

Likely, I don’t think this app any flaws overall because it clearly reads a Chinese character and also the communication phrases. They have different topics for every level of Chinese and if you make any mistakes, they always have a way to help you. I would actually say this is a really fresh start to learn this language for every level. So download the app, Chinese Skill today!!!😁😁😁

I am part Chinese but never learned the language do to being raised by white people and now I am older I want to learn more of my culture and I tried doulingo but after the first few lessons I didn’t learn more because of their ai like voices but this app lets me learn what real mandarin sounds like not text book Mandarin pls give this app a try if you want to learn

I got this app to help me learn Chinese, but everything is locked behind a massive paywall. I was told that it was better than Duolingo, but asking for $14 a month is quite a hefty price to use the app. I am very disappointed.

It has audio and video samples so you can easily learn and It will teach you how to write as well

I recently started learning Chinese and between ChineseSkill and Duo I’ve been able to learn nearly 200+ new words in less than 2 months as well as communicate in basic conversations with my other Chinese-speaking friends!

I like the way they’ve done this app.

I am a student who is studying Chinese and wanted to improve my Chinese. So that is why I got this app! When I started learning a new word, I understood what it meant and what it was used for right away! They have lessons and they also have practice sessions and even video lessons! So you first get this app you choose how many units you do each day! (I choose 40 units). You can practice every single day! Which is GREAT! Thank you soo much Chinese skill for helping students all around the world to learn Chinese!

I think I started using this app 13 years ago when I was in middle school and I honestly believe there is no other Chinese learning app that can compare with ChineseSkill. Literally the best app out there! Thank you so much!!! We love you!!!! :)

I love using this app for its professional lessons. It has made jumping straight into Mandarin very easy, it's awesome how much I can learn in just one section. However, my only problem is with a bug in the app which prevents me from moving forward in my lessons progress-- I am basically stuck and I want to keep studying, but cannot because of the app malfunction. If there will be a software update, please fix this problem. Thank you.

I use to take Chinese courses back in university and haven’t had the chance to practice anymore, but this app definitely helps as a reminder of what I do don’t remember !

I started on Duolingo and then bought this: it is better in every way. Where Duolingo doesn’t explain what any word means, this app explains literally and colloquial uses. Duolingo has some hanzi but it is separate from the lessons. Here, you learn hanzi along with pinyin and word definitions and structures. Not only that, with each hanzi you learn through beautiful animation the words are pictures representing something. I basically use Duolingo to track my progress and get reminders to practice every day, then hop over here to get real work done. I bought the unlimited version (don’t remember) and I’d say it’s a steal of a deal. This is the only Chinese app you’ll need!!

The lessons use simple pictures to help you recognize words, test your pronunciation and listening skills, and offer grammar detail information. I am learning so much!

it’s better than Duolingo and much more engaging, it checks ur voice too, I love it so much, it makes it easier to grasp and understand. I’m learning Chinese to speak with my friend.

One small problems when explaining the grammar sections I have traditional Chinese characters but the grammar pages in main course show simplified! Not only this Stories are in simplified, games are in simplified! This app was obvious not made for Traditional characters even if it offers it!

It’s a great app but it’s hard to learn Chinese but that’s not there fault

I never thought that I would be able to learn Chinese because is one of the more complex languages in the world but with this application, now I know that is difficult but not impossible and I think that if I keep it up maybe I will be speaking Mandarin Chinese sooner than I think. “ I JUST LOVE IT “ sincerely Jose Gutierrez.

My 6 yr old and I are only 3 lessons in and we’re enjoying ourselves. Getting to practice writing the characters is fun and practicing the language is interesting.
